Coming Soon: "The Neurotic" goes diy...

greetings & salutations!!!

It's with mixed emotions that "A Neurotic's View" is going away. On one hand, I'm excited to start a blog for which I actually should (should) have regular content. On the other, I really liked the premise of the blog in its original format...I'm just not motivated to come up with regluar posts. That, and I'm technically not really a "twenty-something" anymore. So adieu.

What one was:
"A Neurotic's View of Modern Life
A smattering of the random thoughts and emotions of a twenty-something neurotic drama queen attempting to make sense of her modern existence."

Will now be:
"the urban girl's diy
A collection of mostly done-by-myself projects and inspirations for making a stylish existence. Aimed at those with more brains than money."

So...welcome. I hope to have something up soon. :)

You are loyal to your family.

I think the fortune cookie business is hard up for creative writers because this was someone's idea of a "fortune."

Note to fortune cookie companies, "you are loyal to your family" is not a fortune. Repeat, it is NOT a fortune. It's a statement...an observation maybe. I will buy that that statement might be something I'd hear from a palm reader. Perhaps it's a Psychic Cookie. But it's not a fortune. Fortunes are things like, "You will achieve great success in life" or "One day you will learn from your mistakes." They are things that when you add "...in bed" to them, they are funny.

There's nothing funny about "you are loyal to your family in bed." Ick.

Please Fortune Cookie makers...give us our fortunes back.
